The Mechanics of Etiquette

The Mechanics of Etiquette was a dance performance developed in collaboration with choreographer Felicia Ballos for the Swiss Institute in 2005. The performers each wore fragments of a single costume, and mapped with their movements the truncated fragments of a vast architectural space.  The cadence and sequence of the dance was measured according to antiquated conventions of etiquette.

The performance featured dancers Felicia Ballos Leigh Garrett and Winona Ballentine. Music was performed by Noad Sheldon and David Griffin. Set and costume were designed by Craycroft.
